[at some point in the day, taichi finds himself wandering into the cafeteria, probably on an off-hour just to get a feel for the place. it's not as busy, but he's taking time to check things out.

however, there's another person here. it isn't someone he recognizes, but he does give a slight nod in greeting before moving ahead to check out the hot food selection.

is he going to start a conversation immediately? not quite. is he keeping a slight watch on bradley's movements? yeah, a little. give him a sec to feel stuff out.]

[His plate is piled high with... is this all chicken? Yes it is! It's 100% fried chicken and absolutely nothing else.

He also carrying his rifle with him. Don't worry about it.]

[that's...there's a lot to process here and he's not sure what to do with that. probably ignore the rifle. but fine, he's eyeballing the chicken.]

Ain't as good as the stuff at home, but it ain't bad! Ya want a piece?

Sure, why not. [he will approach and look at this chicken pile.]

What other kind of stuff do you have where you're from?

[He will get a drumstick off of Bradley's plate.]

All kinds of stuff, gonna have to narrow it down.

Ajillo. Haven't seen anything like it yet.

I don't think I've ever had it. [it's possible he's never heard of it.] What's good about it?

It's flavorful 'nd simple. Used to live right by the sea so gettin' the ingredients was easy.

We're not anywhere near the ocean, but you could always try your luck fishing in the river. [it's a joke, most likely.] But makes sense.

[instead of holding the drumstick, at least, he'll take a bite.]

You could probably find somebody who cooks and ask.

Think there'd be shrimp in there?

[He doubts it.

But he will start eating his fried chicken mountain.]

I didn't look close enough. I talked to some guy earlier who mentioned a couple of seafood dishes. You could try asking him?

Oh yeah? What's his name?

No idea, sorry. He probably isn't that hard to track down. He was only using one of his arms.

He had both of 'em? Huh.

Yeah. I didn't think to ask. Didn't seem like a huge deal since he was doing okay.

Probably fine if he wasn't makin' it an issue.

I'll have t' track the guy down.

Good to meet you. If I see that guy again or anybody I'll give them your name. [and because this is now becoming a thing:] You know how to use your phone?

More or less. It's just a faster way to send letters, ain't it?

Normally they can do a lot more than that, but yeah that's about right. It's the easiest way to get in touch with people who aren't in the same dorms and stuff.
