I said the same thing to someone else earlier, too. That because she was guilty, we're just going to ignore it and focus on Wang Lu. But I don't think that's right. Especially when we don't actually know that it was someone doing it as a service to the rest of us.
Yeah...I do, too. It's difficult though. I get it. [...] Do you think people like Byleth and Rupert are doing what they believe is the greater good then? It's a question a lot of us are asking now.
A lot of Byleth's story didn't add up when I asked her things. I just wanted to know what we should be doing to help them and...got a vague answer that I can't even do anything with.
And now we're back at square one of not even really knowing who else might be involved.
She told me the best way to keep helping was by digging up answers like we've been doing. [so. unhelpful.] And then she started talking about energy exchanges...we were trying to understand why any of this was happening. Wishes came up.
... I wonder if some of it was not just simple encouragement. "The best thing you can do is to keep going as you have been." A long way of saying, "Don't lose hope."
Maybe. That'd be just like her. [and there's a little wave of agitation and also faint fondness there.] She's always...kind of talked to me like she believed I could figure stuff out, even if I'm not so sure myself. Must be a teacher thing.
I am, too. [there's a blip of grief of his own, but it's faint like he's already accepted that this was happening. or maybe like someone who's used to losing important people anyway.]
But the good thing is we will get everyone back. We might not know how yet, but we're going to figure it out and do it before graduation.
[because. like. there are so many people who would refuse to leave the dead behind, he thinks.]

I'm afraid that doesn't make much sense to me, either.

She did the same for me.
...I'm going to miss her, until we get everyone back.

... I would really like to find who killed her.

...even if everyone decides to vote for Wang Lu's killer in the end, I want to find Byleth's to at least know. It's only right.
