[with lila dropped off at summer dorm, taichi makes his way back to the field to figure out what to do with the body. god. there's a body, and this is the kind of thing he was afraid of. he's still carrying the sticks even though they're sort of heavy, but he turns back to lux as they walk.]

What the hell is going on?

[ lux tags along with him, which i suppose means she is also just carrying this bow around with her, too. ]

I wish I knew.

This - if this was some kind of accident, the message wouldn't have been like that. Would it?

If it were an accident, would we have gotten a message at all? It's a little weird that it happened as soon as we found him.

[ you know what, this was going to be in person, but then lux sat down in her common room and could not find the energy to get back up. executions are bad. ]

How are you doing? It seems a silly question to ask, but I must.

how the hell was this even worse than what we could've pictured?

I'm fine.

Because we wanted to believe in the aesthetics of this place. I don't think that it's wrong to have given the benefit of doubt.

But now we know.

[out on campus today, everybody's pissed off! but it turns out taichi's not the only person wandering because he spots lux ahead. it takes a moment for him to catch up, but he reaches her side easily and nods in greeting.]

...how are you, Luxanna?

[illuminance]

[ she returns the nod. and forces a shaky smile, despite everything. ]

Miserable, as this place is perfecting the art of making me.

What about you?

Angry, mostly, which is something I'm familiar with and it doesn't get any better. [hah.]

The whole thing's pretty bullshit, isn't it?

Week 3: Monday

[illuminance]

[ lux is in the common room, marveling at her little christmas gift when she spots taichi. she gives him a smile - and holds it up for him to see. looks like a little badge or emblem of some kind? neat. ]

What did you get?

[he squints a little at the badge, a slight grin following because it's shiny even if he doesn't get what it is.]

Nothing like that. But check it out. [he will pick up and hand her a photo.]

[illuminance]

[ it looks like it has some kind of bird? wing? symbol on it. she's happy, anyway. ]

A portrait! [ and she does, of course, quietly 'aww' over little taichi and yamato. then: ] There are quite a lot of... Unfamiliar creatures in this.

Week 3: Friday | text

[meanwhile in fall dorm, taichi will come across lux and give her a tired, awkward sort of smile of greeting.]

What a weekend, huh? [hi lux.]

[ she smiles back, equally... weary. she looks like she's been crying, but it's fine. ]

It certainly was... Unpredictable. Even for this place.

w4, monday

[illuminance]

[ ... at some point, as CHEM 696: The Epidemic of Single People class ends, lux is exiting the building and smiling very brightly. ]

I've come up with a thesis for my presentation on why people are single and how to prevent it! Less murder. Murder is my explanation, and less of it is my solution!

[he's following her out of class even if his emotions are a brief blip of ? ? ? based on what they just discussed, but it's quickly replaced by a laugh.]

Sounds like a good solution to me. With less murder, there's more people who're available to date each other and people would be encouraged to relax and spend time together without worrying. I'd definitely give you an A for that one.

[later, when lux is alone, taichi will approach and sit nearby, leaning back against a couch and clearing his throat to get her attention.]

...how're the eyes, Lux?

[ she turns to look at him and then is hit with the same wave of frustration that hits her every time she tries to look at something and expects to just see it. ]

Blurry.

But it's a small thing, compared to everything else that's happening.

[probably back at fall dorm, taichi will find lux and drop down in a seat near her.]

For what it's worth, I think you're much better than an actual vampire.
