Whatever we can do to keep someone from volunteering like that again, we should do it. So. [ a pen appears in his hand and he holds it like... a sword...? ] Fight me.
[it's a bad day fam!! very bad!! but at the same time taichi seems to be kind of staring off into space before he turns his head. his expression relaxes a little when he recognizes that it's leo, and he's about to open his mouth to say he agrees, but:]

[many questions! no answers! but he locates the pen he let denji borrow during the trial and holds it like a sword. or what he thinks is a sword.]
Even if it was weird I don't think I'd mind much. [but there's a nod and he immediately tries to strike leo's pen with his own. he's assuming that's what he's supposed to do here.]
[it's actually a decent distraction, to be honest. taichi doesn't know how to use a real sword but he can use melee objects just fine. and like. a pen. slash jab, etc.]
We got way too distracted at the beginning. Last time it was a bear, this time it was about the biting thing...I feel like we might've lost some time there, but I don't know if it would've even helped.
No kidding. [...though. slashing.] Then again, it could have possibly been helpful if the circumstances were different. That's the problem. What if his killer had actually bitten him before that? I asked myself that question yesterday before we even knew what it meant.
Would it have mattered? No matter what it means, something like that wouldn't be hard to fake. Or if we look at it the other way, they'd just have to say that they didn't feel that way about the guy and we'd have no evidence to the contrary.

On the contrary to that, when it's something that obvious it's almost stupid not to look at it just in case. Again, we nearly missed a culprit just because she was sitting down.
...I'm not disagreeing with you. But I think there's a better way to do this than not doing it at all and going full force without stopping.

Yeah, I get what you mean. But I've got a feeling that we overthought it some, too. All that time we spent on the geese when it was probably just a confirmation that we had an accomplice situation when we already knew that?

I still think there was a different meaning to it that we overlooked. The mentor/student angle makes sense. Adult and child less so, but it's still possible. I think I'm more annoyed we spent so many vouchers on birds that hate half of the people in the room.

I could see the mentor and student angle, but it's hard to tell who that could be when it's only been a few weeks.
There's not much we can do about it now. It kind of makes me feel bad for Yamato, though. Using all those vouchers on something like that must be really frustrating for him.
That's the thing. The hint was just obscure enough we'd have to really think it through based on what we know about everybody in a short amount of time. It wouldn't have worked for most of us.

It was his choice and he'll complain for a while but I doubt he regrets trying it. We've done stupider things before.
So I guess that's our cue to try to get to know each other better? [ he makes a face. ] Because that will make it easier for us, if this keeps happening.

We should be doing that anyway, but yeah. If this keeps happening we should have a better idea what people are like. Maybe then we won't spend hours trying to find a suspect.
