[it's sometime after classes and taichi's roaming campus, occasionally kicking a soccer ball around. did he steal this out of the gym as soon as he found it? yes. is he keeping it forever? also yes.

either way, he's mostly wandering for lack of anything else to do while letting his feet do mindless drills before he notices nier ahead.]

Nier! [he scoops up the ball and jogs over to him.] How's it goin'?

[did you survive classes, friendo. how are the angry geese?]

[ "lack of anything else to do" do your homework. Nier is actually hanging out by the field, mostly enjoying new sceneries. He perks up. ]

Taichi. [ He stands up from where he was sitting to greet and talk to him proper. ] All right. First day of school was not what I expected? It's not bad, either. I think. Cats is still on my mind, so...

What about you and your ball?

[no he's on the dean's list, he doesn't have to. but he seems pleased nier's receptive and approaching, even as he's kicking the ball back and forth where he's standing.]

I don't think anything could've prepared us for what the first day was actually like. [he shudders a little. cats was bad.] But the worst of it's over for now.

[he does perk up at the mention of his ball though.] I'm kind of glad the construction on the gym and the field finished first. At least all of that's familiar to me. [and because he's mentioned it, he points at the ball.] Soccer.

[ Taichi says the worst is over, but now he's thinking about the 3 hour reading he has to do later. Hm. ]

I don't know much about the gym, but I do like the field. Kind of reminds me of home. [ Just a lot of open space. Nier looks at Taichi, then at the ball. Silent for like... Three seconds. ] Soccer.

[ OKAY? Taichi is silly and Nier tries not to laugh. ]

Yeah, he was.

He was with us before we got knocked out, too. Chatting and pondering like the rest of us. It's... Jarring to wake up and this is what happened.

You went to investigate, right? Are you okay?

nothing stood out about yesterday though? did he say he was planning on going somewhere? anything?
i'm fine. we found him but we didn't find much else besides a couple of sticks and arrows and a bow

[i don't think you gave me a location hei so i'm putting us in the costume emporium, which means taichi's being nosy and browsing around. as he searches through a rack more out of something to do than interest, he reaches the end and spots nier across the room. maybe he's just entering, who's to say. regardless, taichi nods in greeting.]

Dude, have you seen some of this stuff? Some of it's pretty weird.

[ That is perfect enough. Nier is blinking slowly as he looks at all of these. The school uniforms were weird enough for him, but what the fuck. ]

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would wear these. Or... Why.

The "why" is definitely a good question. [who. why. what?] I guess maybe if you're into acting or something, but it seems like a pain to have to change costumes all the time.

[ hewwo ty we are having another in-person thread on this post-trial evening. Taichi can find Nier just lying in the snow like this will be his coffin. ]

[in person! nier is lying in the snow and taichi approaches. he kind of crouches as best as he can to stare him down quietly.]

I only started and Sakyou seemed fine in the snow for hours.

thursday, w4 before curfew

[ Nier is just sitting by summer dorm! Healed up, bandaged up, and he's a good boy that ate and had a lot of water before returning. ]

Hey, Taichi.

[ the emotion is definitely STEELS SELF for DIGI WORRY. ]

[his own emotions are...weirdly quiet, though there are pulses of worry and concern as he approaches and has a seat.]

How're you feeling?

My shoulder will still need time to heal, but well enough that I should be able to use my arm like normal in a week or so.

[ NieR characters. His emotions settle to... Something blank. ]

Been doing fine. I’m kind of worried about Mandricardo and Mabel, though.

Yeah, I bought it recently and shared it with the dorm.

she said she's moving back in with you guys. she announced it to our dorm earlier
...did you talk to annie today then? did things seem okay?

[LISTEN THAT WAS ONE TIME. he's probably...outside of fall dorm because he's not moving very far otherwise. he looks in nier's general direction when he hears him, lifting a hand to wave.]

Hey. [he does sound at least a little sheepish like "wow why would i run???"] Thanks for your help earlier.

[ one time is one too many, man. Nier waves back, then sits nearby. ]

... It's the least I can do when Otome is gone. [ I miss her. ] How are you feeling?
